Specialist Aged Care & Seniors Counselling
Serving Bendigo, Castlemaine, Maryborough & Regional Victoria
Aging and changing health needs bring profound life transitions. Whether it is fighting to maintain independence at home or navigating the emotional weight of moving into a residential care facility, these chapters frequently trigger complex feelings of grief, loss, anxiety, and uncertainty—not just for the individual, but for the entire family support network.
You do not have to carry this weight alone.
A Unique Blend of Professional Counselling & 35 Years of Clinical Nursing
What makes my practice uniquely grounded is my professional history. I provide qualified mental health counselling backed by a 35-year background in nursing, with the last 10 years spent specialising exclusively in aged care.
Because of this deep clinical and practical experience, I intimately understand aged care systems, chronic illness, cognitive decline, and the delicate emotional ecosystem of aging. I speak the language of doctors, facility staff, care managers, and families, allowing me to provide a deeply respectful, compassionate, and uniquely informed level of care.
Support at Home Counselling (Home Care Packages)
For seniors living independently in the community, maintaining mental and emotional well-being is just as vital as physical care. I provide flexible in-home or telehealth counselling across the region to help seniors and their family carers process life transitions, health diagnoses, and caregiver burnout.
100% Government-Funded Options: My services are fully approved under the Clinical Supports – Allied Health & Other Therapeutic Services tier of the Support at Home program (formerly Home Care Packages).
No Out-of-Pocket Costs: If you have a provider-managed or self-managed package, these sessions can be built directly into your care plan, meaning the government funds the cost entirely out of your package budget.
Onsite Counselling for Residential Aged Care
Moving into a residential aged care facility is a profound life transition that requires constant adaptation. Unexpected shifts—such as changing rooms, staff turnover, or a decline in health—can deeply impact a resident's sense of security and stability.
I provide a compassionate, professional onsite presence right where it is needed most, supporting all stakeholders:
For Residents: Offering a safe, confidential space to process the emotional challenges of aging, loss of independence, and environmental changes.
For Families & Carers: Providing guidance to navigate the emotional weight of transitioning a loved one into care and managing changing family dynamics.
For Facility Staff & Providers: Collaborating as a fellow clinician to enhance the overall mental well-being, emotional stability, and resilience of your care community.
Let’s Work Together
Whether you are an independent senior looking to utilise your home care funding, a family member looking for support, or an Aged Care Facility Director wanting to support your residents and staff, I am here to help.
